Scottish Hazards Urges Parties To Put Workplace Safety At Heart of 2026 Election Manifestos
Scottish Hazards has issued a call to all political parties ahead of the 2026 Scottish Parliamentary Election, urging them to place workplace health and safety at the centre of their campaign commitments.
In a newly released manifesto, the organisation argues that building a sustainable Scottish economy must begin with ensuring that work is fair, healthy, safe, and supportive. It stresses that reducing economic inactivity is not simply a matter of improving statistics, but of treating people with dignity and respect.
Scottish Hazards highlights the need for robust occupational support for workers at risk of leaving employment and for those returning to jobs that may have changed significantly during their absence. The group is calling on parties to prioritise these issues in their election manifestos and to embed the lessons outlined in the document into their policy platforms.
